“Jackpot” opens with a sample of the lottery scenario. With the most recent winner escaping and attempting to avoid being slain by devoted locals pursuing him throughout town. Mostly on the run with multiple characters participating in the jackpot hunt, Feig gets the first of many opportunities to show off action maneuvers and sets the hot pace of the film. The tale quickly shifts to Katie, the former kid face of advertising who wants to attempt acting again. But runs into a predatory world where success is almost unachievable. Katie finds a lottery ticket in Shadi’s clothes thanks to fecal matter leakage in her rental room.
