The movie starts on a private plane with lots of guests on board. The main character, Franklin, claims that everyone on the plane is soon to pass away. Sig Thorenson, the owner of a pharmaceutical business that saturated the market with a deadly and addictive medicine, resulting in thousands of fatalities, is the man seated across from him on that aircraft.
