Essiedu is employed under a dreadful boss. In the opening act of Genie, Bernard faces two devastating blows. Firstly, he becomes so engrossed in his work that he forgets his daughter’s birthday, resulting in his wife deciding to separate from him. Bernard has lost his daughter, his job, and his holiday spirit. However, the story takes a turn when Flora enters the scene, an actual genie discovered by Bernard in a jewel box.
