Dog Gone 2023

Fielding is nearing the end of his college career, but he has no plans for the future, whereas his friends are just getting started. Fielding decides to adopt a dog instead, and Gonker becomes his new best friend as he prepares to return home, living with his mother, Ginny, and father, John, who isn’t pleased with his son’s misbehaviour. One afternoon while walking along the Appalachian Trail, an unleashed Gonker chases a fox and never returns, causing Fielding to panic. After informing his parents of the situation, John and Ginny begin organising search efforts, enlisting community assistance. While looking for Gonker, John and Fielding deal with their growing communication problems, with the son unable to share his hopes and dreams with his parent, who is concerned about the boy’s ability to care for himself.
