Elly is a botanist working close to the Borrego Springs region in Southern California, going through the desert on a plant review, glad to work alone in the bursting heat. As day transforms into night, Elly turns out to be in the space of a plane accident, with the little airplane containing blocks of pills. The pilot, Tomas rises up out of the destruction bewildered and confounded, but also armed. Abducting Elly, Tomas desires to utilize her insight into the area to advance toward a Salton Sea area, dropping off what’s left of the freight.
