In 1994, Noah, an ex-serviceman, is having problems finding job and is forced to work to help pay for his brother’s cancer treatment. Optimus Prime approaches Mirage, an Autobot who has recently been contacted, after detecting a TransWarp Key signal in the sky. Noah has access to Mirage. The technology enables the Autobots to travel through space and time, returning to their home planet. Terrorcon Scourge, an agent of Unicron, a massive machine ravenous for planets and eager for the Key to refuel, is also looking for the Key. While Optimus and Scourge fight for control of the Key in New York City, the Maximals, commanded by Optimus Primal and his army, emerge in Peru, ready to face Unicron once more.
