We Live in Time is much too obvious in its attempt to touch your emotions. I was a little annoyed by how flawlessly it depicts the lives of its protagonists. Almut is not only a chef; she is a Michelin-starred chef with international recognition. A real fairytale cottage in the country is given to the couple, not simply a dwelling. Their story is a cheesy romance that aims to construct an impossible ideal environment before ruining it to heighten the misery. If these folks weren’t leading ideal, unachievable lives, it seemed as though Nick Payne’s script didn’t think viewers would feel an emotional bond with them.
