Catherine Called Birdy 2022

Catherine Called Birdy is a coming-of-age comedy set in medieval England that is based on a well-known book of the same name published in 1994. Although it is lovely, it has sexual overtones and tackles some difficult subjects. Lena Dunham’s film follows Birdy, a 14-year-old girl, as she navigates adolescence, including first loves and periods, as her father, Lord Rollo, seeks to arrange her marriage to recoup the family’s lost money.
