The Forge 2024

“The Forge” is a beautiful play about faith that borders on dullness and preachiness. The movie is set in Charlotte, North Carolina, but was mostly shot in Albany, Georgia. In “The Forge,” there are a number of disparaging stereotypes regarding African Americans living in urban areas. In this movie, a young African American man who is “at risk.” And whose father abandoned the family is brought up by his single mother. These tired and overdone preconceptions would be balanced out by “The Forge”‘s realistic and admirable depictions of African Americans without coming off as offensive.
