The story of Uglies 2024 revolves around Tally Youngblood and takes place in a dystopian future Earth. Thinking that a unique form of orchid would solve all problems, some scientists developed a fully renewable source of energy after the downfall of human civilisation owing to conflicts over natural resources. However, humankind persisted in treating one another unfairly based on social status, nationality, and clan, which kept them apart as a species. So those scientists made the decision to further split society in an effort to end all kinds of violence. They devised a process that would enable individuals to experience a mental and physical metamorphosis on their sixteenth birthday. They reasoned that if people were content with who they were, they wouldn’t waste time arguing about other things. Pretties were the people who were selected to go through this transformation.
