The movie commences during the bleak period preceding the inaugural Hunger Games. In a wintry Panem, two youngsters named Coriolanus and Tigris are desperately fleeing for their lives. Seeking refuge, they reach their grandmother’s abode, only to receive the devastating news of Coriolanus’ father’s demise in district 12. Fast forward several years, and Coriolanus, now a young man, aspires to ascend to the presidency, with his cousin Tigres serving as his trusted confidant. Volumnia Gaul, the incumbent President, introduces the children of the Capitol to Dean Casca Highbottom, the game-maker, who outlines the rules for the 10th Hunger Games.
