Beautiful, young detective Tom Nichols and his younger partner Cleary take on the investigation after attractive, young realtor Summer is discovered dead in one of the homes she was attempting to sell. They begin by looking into the usual suspects, such Summer’s ex-husband and Will, who was formerly her lover. Tom finds a potential murderer quickly, but even after it seems that the case has been solved, he is unable to ignore the contradictory evidence. He quickly learns that there is a lot more to this case than he initially believed and that it even has catastrophic ramifications for his own life as he investigates the peculiar circumstances surrounding Summer’s murder.
