The story tells about fictional Los Angeles where the vampires made a deal with the Boyle Heights people. They agreed to stay in the shadows and to stop fighting between their types. In order to keep peace and order, Boyle Heights creates three rules for the vamps to obey. Now onwards these night creatures will remain in shadows and will never go into Boyle Heights without consent. It starts with Victor, a vampire who enters Boyle Heights illegally.
