Eddie is portrayed as a minor criminal who believes that one final successful heist will liberate him from his troubled past, allowing him to build a future with his daughter. There exists a more audacious interpretation of ‘Locked’ that depicts Eddie as a genuine villain, compelling us to consider whether his fate is a manifestation of karma; however, this film does not explore that narrative. In fact, it lacks the boldness to make Eddie’s initial act a genuine burglary. When he discovers a luxury SUV in an isolated parking area, he decides to check if the door is ajar, which it is.
