Cecilia is a young lady about whom we know nothing but her unwavering loyalty because of an incident that happened to her on a frozen lake when she was a tiny child and should have killed her. Cecilia, like the majority of the characters in Immaculate, remains a mystery and only a piece on a genre board. It might not be a big deal if a movie had the visual language to make up for a lack of character development, but that’s nearly never the case, with movies looking flat when they should be poppin’ and dull when they should be colorful.
