G20 2025

In “G20,” Viola Davis plays President Danielle Sutton, a former Iraq War hero who has entered politics and is hoping to succeed at the G20 summit on a global scale. When mercenaries, under the command of Corporal Rutledge (Antony Starr), take over the event and try to kidnap Sutton and her family, her dreams are suddenly dashed. The second picture of its kind to be released this week, “G20” is directed by Patricia Riggen and has the feel of a modern Harrison Ford film. A more melancholy viewpoint reminiscent of Phillip Noyce’s Jack Ryan series can be found in “The Amateur,” a CIA thriller starring Rami Malek and directed by James Hawes.
