“Absolution” centers on Nesson’s character, Thug, who lives on the streets of Boston. He has long since outlived his boxing glory days. Thug serves as muscle for local gangster Charlie Conner in order to make ends meet. Teaching his troublesome son Kyle the ins and outs of the business is Charlie’s most recent task. After a difficult beginning to their relationship, Thug turns to a bar to numb his pains. At the pub, Thug runs across an unnamed woman who wants to exact revenge on her violent partner.
