Agnes, Ben and Louise’s daughter, is having a great time on vacation in Italy. They make friends with Paddy and Ciara. They are a couple who have a mute son named Ant, while on their journey. A few months later, Paddy extends an offer for them to spend a weekend at their remote estate in the heart of Wales. But when they get there, their hosts act strangely and uncomfortable. They are forcing Louise, who is a vegetarian, to consume meat. Because they don’t want to be impolite, Ben and Louise are reluctant to face these peculiarities, which creates suspense throughout the story. Ben frequently convinces Louise to ignore the warning signs, even though she is more aware of them. They are trapped in a horrible predicament that they might not be able to escape by the time they discover Paddy and Ciara’s true intentions.
