Meteorologist and storm chaser Kate Cooper is committed to stopping tornadoes and saving lives. She is full of ambitions and hopes at the start of the movie. But tragedy soon follows, forcing Kate to leave Oklahoma in order to take a desk job in New York City. Five years later, though, her buddy Javi approaches her with an offer to collaborate on storm tracking using cutting-edge military equipment. Even though she’s still processing what happened, Kate chooses to go with him. Once they go back to Oklahoma, Tyler Owens, the conceited YouTuber who chases storms, confronts Kate and Javi and treats everything like a game.
