The plot begins in Osaka, Japan, as the narrative concentrates on a family heirloom, a Muramasa blade. 20 years later, Shiro who is an unknown man, arises up from a bad dream in a hospital located in São Paulo. He is not able to remind his own identity, and the doctor finds it an interesting case to investigate. As the drama takes a step forward, it makes another titular character, Akemi. She is living in the neighborhood of Sao Paulo and works for a store to make her living. Akemi actually came to Brazil with Daisuke who is her grandfather.
