Infinity Pool is a weird thriller with brutal violence and explicit, occasionally disturbing sexual imagery. Through the affluent, privileged main character James Foster, writer-director Brandon Cronenberg explores themes of masculinity, narcissism, and entitlement. The use of coercion is a significant problem, and it is morally questionable for James to participate in his new friends’ troubling behaviour.
